October is National School Bus Safety Month at Waverly Community Schools
October is National School Bus Safety Month, a time to highlight the important role school transportation plays in keeping students safe every day. Throughout the month, our Transportation Department and school bus drivers will be working with students to reinforce safe riding habits and promote school bus safety.Bus Safety EducationDuring October, our drivers will take time to educate student riders on important bus safety topics, including:
- Safe boarding and exiting procedures
- Proper behavior while riding the bus
- Railroad crossing awareness
- Danger zone safety around the bus
- Following driver instructions
- Respecting fellow passengers
These reminders help ensure every student arrives at school and home safely each day.
